Football - Physical Education and Sport

How long have you been involved in sport?

As soon as I started walking I was kicking a ball but I started playing at club level at about the age of 6 so for 15 years! I started at Tottenham Ladies and was there until I was 18. I have floated around the Sunday League sides in Premier Divisions across London with half a season for Millwall Lionesses.

How has being active benefitted you?

Sport in general and being active has benefitted my confidence levels massively especially in terms of my mental health. Without football I honestly don’t know how I would cope; it’s been a massive outlet for me throughout my life. Especially at university, football has given me friends for life. There’s a massive social side to sport that you can’t find anywhere else.

How can others get involved?

It’s easy! There are so many people around campus that you can talk to about getting involved and every sport is so inclusive, it doesn’t matter how much sport you’ve played before or how good you are. If you want to play, you can!

Describe what sport means to you in three words??

Beneficial, fun (sounds generic and boring but there’s no other way to say it) and so engaging in terms of no matter what’s on my mind there’s always a way to get engaged and involved to take your mind off everything else.
