Welcome to the Paramedic Science Society 2019/2020!
Just thought I'd jump in here quick and give a very brief hello. Welcome! My name is Sean Crawford and I am the Chairman for the society this year. I'm hoping to mix things up a bit and bring a much larger social aspect across the course along with the usual CPD's and T-shirts!
I've got a great team this year and hopefully we will be able to deliver something for everyone. New additions to the team include; Sam who will be in charge of events and CPDs, Harriett who is organising merchandise and social media, Gabs and Mike co-treasuring (is that a word?!?) together and Tom running as social sec.
If you have any questions or suggestions do let me know via the contact details on this page, or stop me for a chat round campus or on station!
Hope to see you around,
Greenwich Paramedic Science Society - What is it all about?
We endeavour to host monthly academic forums at avery hill campus consisting of discussions led by students and guest speakers from healthcare. The society is led by BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science students and is aimed at not just paramedics, but all healthcare students. For more information on becoming a member, read below or contact us firstname.lastname@example.org
In addition to this we are also looking to have a greater social presence around campus with more events for people to join in with. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages for more information!
Becoming a member - what's in it for me?
Membership only costs £10 for the whole year and includes access to our Academic Forums as well as certification for attendance to compliment your professional portfolios. Those who sign up before Friday 18th October 2019 will recieve a free T-shirt!
*Subject to availability.
RNLI tower lifeboat station visit - an opportunity has arisen to visit the RNLI's busiest station, situated on the river thames. It'll be a saturday in mid to late October, however dates are yet to be confirmed, but there's only 18 spaces! Email us to book a spot (its free!)
Further events will be listed in this section as and when they are organised. Something you would like to do? Contact us!
What's the score with CPDs?
We understand in previous years frustration has been caused with CPD cancellation. We are hoping with the help of the newly appointed Events/CPD officer Sam that we can deliver monthly CPD's consistently and on relevant topics. Details of CPD's will be posted on our social media, sent via email and listed as events on here.
Do you have an interesting patient encounter you would like to share?
How about a very atypical patient presentation??
A lesson learnt you think others could benefit from knowing?
If yes then please please please share your case studies at our CPDs! Email us on email@example.com for more information, 1st ,2nd and 3rd years accepted!
Online Learning Hub
Another new addition for this year is our Online Learning Hub, comprised of revision resources and bits of information our team has created and gathered over the years, all tailored for this course at this university. The hub is only accessbile by members, and can be found in the resources section at the bottom of this page.
