Liz Roberts

Activities Administrator (student staff)

I’m Liz and I’m an Activities Administrator and I started working for the Activities team since June 2015. I’ve also been on various sports and society committees, so I get to see a lot of what happens from both sides.

What has your experience been like as a student staff?

I’ve absolutely loved being student staff, the job is great fun and is flexible round my studies. There’s always something fun to look forward to, be that group leaders training, welcome fair, sports games or the awards ceremonies. There is never a dull moment in the activities team!

What was your proudest moment?

It’s hard to say what is my proudest moment as a student staff member – there have been so many. I think I would have to say it was at the end of our latest group leaders training. This was one of the best we have ever done, and we managed to pull it together amongst the craziness of the awards ceremonies either side of it. It was really great hearing from students about how much they have learned and asking us so many questions.

Would you recommend University of Greenwich students to work at the Students' Union?

Working at the SU is great, it’s been the best job I’ve ever had. Not only is it close to my house, but the fact I can work around my studies is really useful, especially as I head in to my final year. It also pays every two weeks, and has holiday pay, which for a student; is perfect. For anyone who needs a flexible job around their studies, as well as one that is so much fun, I would recommend coming to work for SUUG, it’s the best job I’ve ever had.

How can someone work for the Students Union? What kind of jobs there are available?

It’s super easy to apply, all the vacancies are listed on the website as well as across social media, and all you have to do is fill out a form and the SU will get in touch.
