Starting University this year is an amazing achievement, and it's pretty exciting to do something new and different.

This year, we also recognise it might feel a little bit overwhelming, it's a lot of change from being in lockdown to being completely independent. So we've put a quick guide on things to do now you're coming to Greenwich. This should help you get started and keep up to date with events and information.

Get started with our Welcome website!

When you arrive at Greenwich you'll find out that we're running an amazing programme of events called Welcome Week! It actually goes on for the first three weeks of term.

We've got unmissable events like our Welcome Fairs where you can meet our student groups.

Discover the full programme of events on our Welcome website at greenwichsu.co.uk/welcome

Browse our Societies and Sports clubs

Finding a community is so important, so join up with one of student led groups we have at Greenwich or at Medway.

Societies are based around academic, culture, faith, or any other shared interest. You'll find a really wide range of groups on our website. You can discover Societies at Greenwich or at Medway.

If you like to keep active and want to do that with others, be part of a team. We have Team Greenwich to train at Avery Hill and we also have Team Medway. Whichever you decide to join, you'll find a place to #BelongAtGSU.

Housing guide

If you're not moving into University accommodation, you might need a hand finding accommodation. Take a look at our guide for private renting.

Connect on social media

We'll always keep you up to date with essential information on our social media. We're on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. You can find links to all of these in our website footer.

We've also got a Freshers group, this is really useful for meeting other students who are joining this year too!

Join us on TikTok at @greenwichstudentsunion

We hope you have a great Welcome period and you don't feel too stressed about coming to University, now that you're prepared!
