    WATER facilities!

    Current
There are not enough/if any water facilities for students at the Greenwich Campus (apart from the Queen Mary’s Café which is not enough). Drinking water is key to concentration and ofcourse is a basic human need, therefore, this should be pushed onto the agenda and made priority by the Students Union. The university should make water bottle filling facilities available on every floor of each building in the university. Taps or water cooler machines are more favourable than water fountains which are not adequate for filling water bottles properly due to their shape. I hope the Students Union understands the importance of water especially for students with long learning hours and make water easier to access! Thank you.

10:31am on 31 Jan 18 Hey Tooba, Apologies for taking so long to get back to you, we've only managed to recently relaunch Change One Thing, previously no one had ownership over this system. I have discussed more water facilities with the Estates team, but as our campus is a heritage site, it is very difficult to make significant changes to buildings e.g. changing pipes, changing walls, etc. The University is working on a green policy for sustainability and therefore it would not be possible to invest in water cooler machines I am afraid. However, we are working together on more improved signage and way finding so students know where they can fill their bottles up, even in-between lectures and seminars. With the opening of Dreadnought next year, there will be more water facilities and I continue speaking to other SUs to see what other unis offer. Best, Meike - SU President
