Supporting students regardless of how they identify.

Who are we?

President: Charlie // Treasurer: Éilís // Secretary: Jessie

LGBTQ+ at Greenwich welcomes anyone and everyone who identifies on the spectrum or supports the people who do.

Our main aims are to support and develop the LGBTQ+ community at Greenwich and to provide a safer, more welcoming, and ultimately, happier, space for LGBTQ+ people.

The society is run much like a network - the word 'society' is a bit clique-y, and there can never be enough emphasis on how welcoming a LGBTQ+ society should be.

Our events include our fortnightly Espresso Yourself - a casual meetup, usually in a bar or coffee shop or room in the SU, and SHAG Week (Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance), which is a collaboration between ourselves and the Feminism Society. SHAG Week 2018 won Event of the Year for 2018-19. We'll also run collaborations through the year, especially within February, which is LGBTQ+ History Month.

If you're interested in joining us, the best way to get in touch with us is through our Facebook group, which can be found here! You can also find us on Instagram @lgbtqgre, and join our WhatsApp chat

It's not mandatory to pay the membership fee to turn up at events! But, if you're in a position where you're able to throw us a few quid, we'd really appreciate that - it means we can put on better and bigger events for you.
