Who we are:
The Social Work Society was set up by social work students in 2015 and is open to students and lecturers from all courses, as well as past students and professionals. Students from other courses are welcome to join and come to any of our events.
We believe in equality and as such, the society does not have a hierarchy, but does have a committee to facilitate its smooth running and the organisation of events. The committee is currently comprised of members from different cohorts of the BA and MA programmes. Anyone can join the committee and become involved with the general running of the society, simply contact us if you’d like to learn more or get involved.
We hold a range of events based on extending our critical learning around interesting social work related topics. The events we hold are based on feedback and suggestions from group members and what each and every one of you would like to learn more about.
Based on member feedback, this year we will be aiming to alternate the days and times of our events to make them as accessible to as many of you as possible, so keep your eyes peeled!!
We appreciate that members’ lives are busy and varied and we welcome you to as many, or as few, events as you would like to attend.
If you would like more information, please get in touch. You can reach us by email, Facebook or Twitter.
