Greenwich Mathematical Society - for anyone with an interest in Maths and problem-solving!

Who are we?

Society of the Year 2018/19 as well as Society Community Award Winners 2018/19.

MathSoc (The University of Greenwich Mathematics Society) is an academic society set up to promote maths and the exciting things we can do with maths. All students within the Mathematical Sciences Department are automatically members but others are welcome to join if they would like to (it's free).

Our aim is to make Maths more accessible to those who share our enthusiasm, however large or small their mathematical interest or knowledge may be. We have recently organised a number of events including: a film night, quiz night, trip to a HintHunt Escape Room experience; team tower-building competition and our annual "Picnic in the Park". Past events include a Nintendo Wii evening, a maths busking training session and the first ever UK Undergrad Maths Conference: Tomorrow's Mathematicians Today. We also hold social events such as ice skating at Christmas and and a theme park trip in summer.  Have an idea for an event? Let us know and we'll see if we can make it a reality!

We publish a termly newsletter called PrimeTimes (available from QM313 and on our website).

Follow us on social media using the links above to stay up-to-date with all of the latest news and events!

Feel free to contact us on the email above or talk to a committee member in person if you have any ideas, opinions or suggestions - we'd love to hear from you!
