At the Law Society we welcome any student that has an interest in law, you do not need to be studying law to be part of our group! We have many events planned for this year and we really think it will be a lot of fun.
Every year the Law Society organises a trip abroad which allows students to develop a deeper understanding of an area of law. In April 2018, the Law Society went to Strasbourg and even had the oppotunity to meet French President, Emmanuel Macron! This year the Committee agreed that it would be a nice change to visit The Netherlands and see what Amsterdam and the Hague has to offer! 16 Students will be attending the trip in April and are all excited to visit the International Criminal Court and International Court of Justice!
We took part as a society in Amicus ALJ at UoG's debates, based on the questions: 'Is the death penalty a legitimate form of punishment?' and 'Should the US have more stringent gun control laws?'.
