The votes have now been counted and verified and we can now announce the new President of Greenwich Students' Union!
Winning the GSU Officer Election with 420 votes was Bilal Ijaz! Bilal is a current GSU Officer and was running for re-election this year.
Bilal ran on a #GlobalGreenwich campaign aiming to run work towards a post study visa to ensure Greenwich's International students are supported. He also wanted to work on academic course-based activity, work on job and volunteer opportunities and work on the Avery Hill Development.
In addition, the full GSU Officer team stands as follows:
- Mayo Femi-Obalemo was elected with 360 votes
- Zoë Campbell gained a total of 267 votes
- Niel Lewis closely followed with 262 votes
There were 23 Candidates in the Greenwich Students' Union Elections running for the GSU Officer role, including re-open nominations. There was a huge turnout of 2368 votes in the Elections including the Faculty Officer Elections.
All Candidates ran on campaigns that echoed the GSU Student Priorities that were voted on and set by students from all campuses this academic year. You can read more about the priorities here.
Your new GSU President will start their new role later this year with the rest of the newly elected team joining them.
GSU President Henry Setter will remain in position until his term has finished at the end of June.
