We've got details about how our services are changing and opening up as the next step of the Government roadmap begins on Monday 17th May.

Following the recent Government announcement, the UK will be moving into Step 3 of the Government roadmap with further restrictions being lifted from Monday 17th May.  In line with this, here is an update on availability and access to GSU spaces and services from Monday.

Outdoor sport will continue as previously. Indoor sport will be able to continue from next academic year due to space available on campuses for the rest of this term.

Weekly GSU move sessions continue both virtually and physically. Visit the GSU move page for more info.

Student group events

Student groups are permitted to meet in outdoor spaces, with vast number of attractive green spaces at each campus for groups to use. While groups can now meet outdoor for events, we encourage groups to ensure their activities are still as accessible as possible for their members, continuing to use digital spaces where needed.

Student Group committees can use indoor spaces for meetings, following the rule of six.

Booking GSU spaces

GSU rooms can booked for academic use, or for committee meetings, following the rule of six.  Bookings must be made in advance via our Room booking form

Student group trips

Student groups can now arrange local trips for their members, following all travel guidance and GSU processes.  International student group trips will not be supported by GSU.

Safety measures

While restrictions are being eased, everyone must still follow the guidelines set by the Government, University of Greenwich and GSU.  The following measures are in place for the safety of us all and should still be adhered to when coming onto campus:

  • If you have been onto campus and have recently experienced symptoms or had a positive test, you must report this to the Safety Unit as soon as possible.

  • Be sure to regular sanitise/wash hands and any shared equipment used during the activity.  Cleaning products and sanitiser available in all GSU spaces.

  • Take a lateral flow test before coming onto campus, or if on campus multiple days a week, take the test twice a week.  Testing centres are available to access on all campus, where you can also pick up home test kits.  More information can be found here

  • Do internal tracking of attendees to physical activity for reporting.
