Read an update from your Officer Team on the work they've been doing on University timetabling, and how you can give us your feedback.
Having spoken to University representatives recently regarding timetabling confusion, we understand that some of these issues seem to be arising in part due to late student registration and continuous incoming requests for online study. They have assured us that the resulting problems are being diagnosed. Still, we appreciate the unpredictability of circumstances that might have inhibited these processes from being completed earlier.
In our previous statement - which you can read here - we’d shared that a commitment was given to us by the University in the reassurance that issues surrounding timetabling would be resolved within the week commencing 04/10/21. However, we have since received messages from you informing us that the issues have, in some cases, gotten worse, including the scheduling of classes in rooms unfit for purpose. This is unacceptable.
We’d like to ask of you to share with us your experiences of poor timetabling, unfit teaching locations and other let-downs as far as the University’s inadequate preparations for some of your academic experiences this year. Click here to submit your evidence via an online form (link opens in a new window).
This can be in the form of screenshots, forwarded emails or personal accounts. Your anonymity will be respected. Be sure to include the course, module code and room number wherever relevant. We’ll be using this to help make the University aware of the severity of these issues.
We Officers are committed to pushing the university for better delivery for students on all fronts. We hope that, by submitting your experiences, you can aid us in this endeavour.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Your Officers 2021/22,
Aatika, Jabed, Zoë and Nele
