We successfully elected 200 Academic Representatives with over 350 students being nominated for positions and 800 students voting! Thank you to everyone who voted or put themselves forward.

What is a Programme Representative?

  • There are two positions for Programme Representatives (Reps) per year for every programme.

  • They are elected students who represent you and your views on academic matters relating to your course. They act as the link between students and the academic staff on each course, ensuring the student voice is heard and positive changes are made in every department.

  • They are the first port of call for any suggestions, comments, or queries about the academic experience.

As a Programme Rep, you will represent your peers/fellow students about issues, concerns and good practices related to your programme as well as sharing issues with fellow Programme Reps, peers, School Network Officers, staff and GSU. You will be invited to attend all key decision-making meetings such as Programme Committee meetings where you can help to make a change, and feedback information to your peers.

Does my programme already have a Programme Representative?

If you are unsure if you have a Programme Representative, you will be able to find out on our search tool at greenwichsu.co.uk/academicrep from Wednesday 2nd November

My programme doesn’t have a Programme Representative. What can I do?

For any programmes that do not have any elected representatives or didn’t receive a nomination, the GSU will be running a co-option process.

Co-option process is where students will be able to stand for a position and not have to be voted in by their peers. This process is the next step in ensuring all programmes have active and engaged representatives.

You can run for any vacant position. All you have to do is email reps@gre.ac.uk and let us know which role you are running for and why you would like the position (please ensure you include: your year or level of study, programme and ID).

If you have any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to contact us on reps@gre.ac.uk
