The service provided by the independent organisation is free for students and offers confidential and professional advice for a range of issues students face at University. 69% of the advice given to students is academic advice.
The report is put together by the Advice Team to showcase term by term successes for students.
One way that money is saved for students is when Academic Appeals are upheld through advice support.
The report states one case where a disabled student was supported to overturn a decision that they needed to pay repeated fees and the debt was managed of £6,750. Another instance was to secure a £2,427 sum for financial hardship.
Positive statistics from the report also show that 90% of students are satisfied with the service received.
Feedback from students is collated in the report: “I just want to thank you again for all your support over the summer. It was an incredibly stressful experience but thank God it's over and I got my 2:1”.
