I work in the Maths Department on the Advanced Maths Support Programme,
supporting schools and colleges across 8 London Boroughs with their post
16 maths provision. Although I have only recently started working at the
University, I have found the university to be a welcoming place to work
where being LGBTQ+ has never been an issue.

To me, identifying as gay is no different than being tall or short; I am
proud that I can be myself without having to hide my sexual identity or
the person I love. This does occasionally present issues when looking
for holidays though, as I never want to feel like I must hide my husband,
and unfortunately LGBTQ+ rights are not always present in other
