The Venue Duty Manager is part of the Greenwich Students’ Union Commercial Services. At GSU, we turn over £1.1m through our not-for-profit commercial services that provide services to students, staff, and the local population. We prok vide students at the University of Greenwich with social spaces to study, make friends and have fun.
As the Venue Duty Manager in our Student Union, your role is crucial in supporting the delivery of the venue's departmental plan and creating an inclusive and engaging environment for all. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the venues, with a primary focus on supporting the operation of bars and catering while ensuring the security and safety of customers, staff, and the building.
In the absence of the Food and Beverage Venue Manager or Assistant Food and Beverage Venue Manager, you will supervise staff and assist in various administrative responsibilities, including staff training, stock control, cellar duties, facilities and financial systems maintenance, venue presentation, promotions, events, and activities. Your success in this role will be driven by a highly student and customer-focused approach, emphasising teamwork and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
