PRIMARY WORK AND DUTIES
- Work with the Engagement and Opportunities Co-ordinator to deliver events and activities which are inclusive, safe and engaging.
- Take a register of every attendee to collect information for safety and engagement monitoring purposes.
- Set up and set down activities on campus including any materials, promotion, signage, surveys and any other related items.
- Manage tickets for offsite events and ensure that all students are allowed entry smoothly and safely into the venue.
- For offsite events, obtaining signed agreement from students who wish to travel to a venue but not return (and ensuring it’s the student’s responsibility for themselves once away from primary activity)
- To be on call and on site for offsite events in open locations where groups are able to disperse into larger crowds.
- Ensure any personal details of students are kept securely with the team leaders throughout the events and details returned to the Student Engagement and Opportunities Coordinator as soon as possible.
- Where relevant, obtaining medical and next of kin information from students for offsite and higher risk events. Ensuring that any information given is also shared with the coordinator and reception.
- Give feedback to the Student Engagement and Opportunities Co-ordinator regarding events and activities, ensuring best practice is upheld and to consistently review the programme to increase student experience.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Ensure a register is completed for every activity and event, including taking trip lists, medical questionnaires and next of kin information on all relevant events.
- Ensure that all events and activities are led safely and in line with any risk assessments or procedures which are relevant.
- Be aware of and maintain standards of behaviour by students; to problem solve and demonstrate initiative and have the confidence to deal with issues that may arise.
PROMOTION AND MEDIA
- Abide by the Union Constitution, policies and procedures at all time.
- Contribute to the positive image of Greenwich Students’ Union and Kent Union.
OTHER DUTIES
- Confirm hours worked with the Student Engagement and Opportunities Coordinator weekly, ensuring any changes to shifts are covered.
- Keep checking on staff savvy for shifts and times and confirming those shifts with the Engagement and Opportunities Coordinator.
- Shifts are selected monthly and allocated based on availability, how many staff are needed and preference of choice.
- Adhere to Greenwich Students’ Union’s financial policies, systems and procedures at all times.
- Contribute to the positive image of Greenwich Students’ Union, Kent Union and Christ Church Students’ Union with other students, the University and the local community.
- Attend meetings as required for training or development of the Student Engagement team.
- Undertake other tasks and responsibilities, compatible with the level and nature of the post, as required.
