The Cardamom Challenge is an online challenge where individuals have to bite into a cardamom and nominate 3 others to do the same. Each person participating would then donate £2 towards Young Minds. We, at Greenwich Tamil Society, realise that many students (whether they're at school or university) around the country are struggling during the pandemic and we believe that Young Minds are incredibly valuable during these times.
They campaign, research and influence policy and practice. Young Minds also provide expert knowledge to professionals, parents and young people through their Parents' Helpline, online resources, training and development, outreach work and publications.
If you would like to find out more on what they do, please use the link below:
People can text them 24/7 for free on 85258 and they will provide help and company.
Here's a short step-by-step instructions on how to take part:
1. Set up your camera into portrait mode
2 . Introduce yourself with your name “my name is ....... and I’ve been nominated to take part in the cardamom challenge by ......to raise money and awareness for YoungMinds” (If you are representing a tsoc please state which tsoc as well when introducing yourself)
3. Bite into the cardamom; make sure it’s visible you are biting into the cardamom.
3. While the Cardamom is in your mouth, nominate 3 people either in the video or tag them.
4. Do your donation (£2) on the justgiving page and let us know privately or screenshot and share on story/post with the #cardamomchallenge.
It would also be really appreciated if you could attach the link to the page in your story as well so that if there’s anyone else that it interested, they can donate too.
If you need any more details or instructions or anything please let us know and we’ll help.
