This workshop will explore the neurobiology underpinning the human response to stress and offer simple and practical tips for how to understand, and work with, your own stress response.
In the workshop you will:
- Learn the basics of brain and body science related to the nervous system and how it functions -recognise and track major autonomic nervous system states as they manifest in your own physiology
- Understand how to work with each of these states to effectively modulate and regulate your own stress response
- Learn quick "bio hacks" to manage your Autonomic Nervous System.
Facilitator
Loretta Curtin is a mindfulness educator, yoga teacher and social entrepreneur. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Melbourne (Australia) and has completed specialised training in yoga therapy and mindfulness for chronic pain, trauma-sensitive yoga, yoga and neuroscience, restorative yoga, yoga and the polyvagal theory, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). She has worked in the not-for-profit, education & training, and corporate sectors in a variety of roles, and is the co-founder of one of Australia's most visible Social Enterprises, Good Cycles. Loretta's mindfulness practice is the foundation for her courage, compassion, creativity and commitment to social change.
