Dr Louise Owusu-Kwarteng will be delivering a virtual talk on 'Don't Dis Us' Exploring Disability, Intersectionality and Educational Experiences.

Dr Louise Owusu-Kwarteng is an Associate Professor in Applied Sociology, Senior Lecturer and Programmes Leader for Sociology in the Department of History, Politics and Social Science. Before her work at the University, Louise has worked in Nottingham with young people who had been disaffected from school with the aim of getting them back into education or onto an apprenticeship.

Louise’s research interests fall within several broad areas including, the sociology of race and education and the intra ethnic relations between Black groups in Britain. Louise was also recognised at the 2019 Student Led Teaching Awards, where she was awarded the Inspirational Teaching Award and shortlisted for an Oustanding Personal Tutor the following year.
