About this Event

It's been a challenging year so far! So we're delighted we can offer these exciting new courses to all undergraduate students. These courses have been designed by Mind, alongside students. Each of the sessions aims to teach you tools and techniques to manage your mental health and wellbeing during your busy time at University of Greenwich and beyond! The course is just 2.5 hours each week and takes place over four consecutive weeks. The course involves four 2-hour workshops which are held weekly online. You will also be sent 30 mins of online learning to complete before each workshop, which you can do at a time that suits you. This is also great course to do with friends !

***ALL WORKSHOPS WILL TAKE PLACE VIRTUALLY. Once you register, you will be sent further information and the links to join each session.

What will the course cover? Each week of the course focuses on a different topic:

  • Week one -- It matters what you focus on: attention training
  • Week two -- Habits and dwelling: how to change them
  • Week three -- Dealing with difficult emotions: keeping your balance
  • Week four -- Transforming worries and improving performance

There are lots of different feelings, behaviours and situations that can impact our mental health, particularly at university. In the workshops, Sinéad (our mental health trainer) will introduce you to different evidence-based tools and techniques for managing mental health and wellbeing.

What will I get out of the course? By the end of the course, you should be more confident in managing your mental health. You’ll have a range of effective tools and techniques under your belt that you can use when you need to and positive new habits which will help you stay mentally healthy. Hopefully all of this can help to improve your performance at University as well!
