What Can A Money/Debt Adviser Do To Help You?

We’re here to help you avoid getting into debt by practical budgeting, identifying ways to increase your income, and helping students negotiate debt repayments that they can afford.

If you want us to, we can negotiate on your behalf with creditors.

We can advise you if you are threatened with Court action, bailiffs or other consequences if you can’t pay the debt, and in a lot of cases, we’re able to stop further action against you. If there’s a limit on what we can do, we can refer you to other (free) specialist services. There’s usually no need for you to pay for good quality debt advice.

In a nutshell, we’re helping you to get the time you need to manage your money without suffering more than you need to. The Students’ Union & GK Unions are licensed by the Financial Conduct Authority to provide free debt advice. Our services are free, independent and confidential.
