What has your experience been like as a society member?

I decided to come to Performing Arts because I enjoyed drama back in school and haven’t looked back since. I have met so many incredibly talented people who can sing, dance and act. Everyone was so welcoming and funny; I have made some of my best friends thanks to my time at the society.

What was your proudest moment?

Without doubt my proudest moment was the summer show. The play had an original script and dance, both created by members of the society, which we performed at Bathway Theatre. The whole cast came together and made such an amazing show which I am proud to say I was a part of.

Would you recommend new students to join your society? 

Yes! University can be daunting, especially for new students. Getting the chance to meet up with so many people who all enjoy similar things is a huge help and something I have really enjoyed. We are always looking for new people who are interested in anything performance related, so if you’re an upcoming script writer or just enjoy improv we are happy to have you. Performing Arts is all about giving everyone with all levels of experience and backgrounds the chance to show off their talents and have fun with others.

How often do you meet as a group throughout the year?

We meet every week at Bathway theatre which is just 30 minutes from the Greenwich and Avery Hill campuses. We perform 2 shows (at the end of the winter and spring terms) as well as 2 showcases for members to show off their talents to the rest of the society. We also plan theatre trips every term along with socials throughout the year.
