At Greenwich Students’ Union we know that it can be hard to meet new people and make friends at university. Thanks to insights from our Check In service we also know that students based on our Avery Hill campus experience loneliness at significantly higher rates compared to the other campuses.

But don’t worry, we’re here for you with Avery Connect!

Avery Connect is our new buddy scheme aimed at Avery Hill students. It gives you the opportunity to meet new people, make friends and explore a variety of GSU activities and events.

Avery Connect – How it works

  1. Sign up – Fill out our quick online form to sign up.
  2. Get matched – We’ll review your details when you sign up and match you with buddies based on shared interests and hobbies. You’ll be notified by email when we’ve found you a match.
  3. Discover – To help kickstart your new friendship, we’ll send you recommendations for events and activities that match your interests.

Through Avery Connect we hope to connect you with new people, help you find new friends, and to increase your sense of belonging on campus.

Across GSU there are a number of opportunities for you to meet new people and connect with each other. Sign up to Avery Connect, join a Society, join a Sports Club, become a Programme Rep, get involved with our Liberation Networks or just come along to our next event. If you need any support or advice, then check out our specialist advice service.
