GSU Sports Fund for Women 2026/27

Open to students of University of Greenwich and University of Kent (Medway campus) who identify as female. Limited to one annual membership per student.

Supporting and encouraging female participation in sport and increasing accessibility to the sport community.

 

The GSU Sports Fund for Women is a scheme in which female identifying students who have never been a member of a sports club at university, have a chance to get their first year of membership fully paid for by Greenwich Students' Union. 

GSU Sports Fund for Women aims to get more women into sports by elimanating the financial barrier that can come with joining a sports club. Successful applicants will recieve a paid membership for the entire academic year to any Team Greenwich or Team Medway sports club that they choose. Fund Criteria

 

To apply for this fund you must: 

  • identify as female

  • be a University of Greenwich student or a University of Kent student based at Medway campus

  • never previously been a member of a Team Greenwich or Team Medway sports club

Scholarship Offer

 

Successful candidates will recieve: 

  • membership paid in full for the academic year 2026/27 to any Team Greenwich or Team Medway club of their choosing

How will funding decisions be made?

 

​Eligible students will apply via the form linked below.They will then be selected randomly against the pool of entries for the same club.

Each sports club will be allocated a maximum total amount of memberships.

Successful students will then be selected randomly based on the entry criteria, rather than application based. This reduces the barrier to entry and ensures the aim of the fund is considered.
