As members of the University of Greenwich community, all students are expected to conduct themselves with due regard for its good name and reputation. You are required to comply with the current University Rules, Regulations, Policies, Procedures and Codes of Practice at all times.

All students confirm they you accept our rules and expectations when joining the University and will therefore be deemed responsible for any unwanted behaviour or conduct which has the purpose or effect of violating a person’s dignity or creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment.

Unacceptable behaviour can take different forms including, but not limited to, Bullying and Harassment, Discrimination, Hate Incident/Crime, and Sexual Misconduct.  The GSU and the University have a commitment to responding to unacceptable behaviour within our community.

This applies to behaviour by all students wherever and whenever it may have taken place, including online. Students are expected to use all social media channels effectively, safely, and responsibly. Platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and WhatsApp are all examples of social media. An offensive/negative comment on social media, whether that is around someone’s sexual/gender identity, religion, disability, or any other protected or personal characteristic, not only affects the image and reputation of the individuals involved and the University, but also can have a negative impact on the student community and the GSU, in full or in part. Students should carefully consider the impact of what is posted and its potential impact on individuals and groups. Incidents of Bullying and Harassment, Discrimination, Hate Incident/Crime, and Sexual Misconduct that take place online, whether through private messages or group chats, will not be tolerated.

We are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where all members of our community can feel respected and valued, no matter their background or personal circumstances. Not only is it every student’s responsibility to ensure that their conduct is in line with our rules and expectations, but it is also their duty as members of our University community.

Support for students affected by any of the issues mentioned is available from:
