Whether you’re tackling the cost of living, fighting for students’ rights, or improving services on campus, you can make a real difference for students across Greenwich.  

Nominate yourself to be a GSU Officer today!  

Greenwich Students' Union is a democratic, member led organisation. Officers lead what we do and represent the 30,000+ students at the University of Greenwich.   

There are four Officer roles you can go for

  • President - The lead elected representative of GSU, responsible for championing the student voice and setting the strategic direction of the Union for the academic year.  

  • VP activities and communities - Leads on enhancing student life beyond the classroom, supporting student groups, developing inclusive communities, and improving opportunities for students to engage in activities, volunteering, and events.  

  • VP inclusion and wellbeing - Focuses on improving wellbeing services, promoting inclusion across the university community, and ensuring under-represented groups have a strong voice within GSU and the University of Greenwich.  

  • VP academic representation - leads on ensuring students’ academic interests are heard, protected, and championed across the University. 

How to become a GSU Officer 

Nominating yourself couldn’t be easier. Just go to our dedicated elections webpage, read through the Officer role job descriptions and work out what role is best for you. Complete the nomination form and you’re in! 

There are a few more steps to get your nomination approved and your name on the ballot paper:  

  1. Submit your photo, a manifesto and details of your campaign team

  2. Read the election rules, and sign to confirm you’ve understood them 

  3. Attend a mandatory online training session. 

Nominations are open until 2nd February. Voting opens on 9th February and closes on 11th February. Results will be announced on 12th February.
