What Saif Has Been Working On

In his end-of-term update, Saif shared that his main priorities this term were delivering progress on his two key campaigns: Better Study Spaces and Rebuilding the GRE App.

He told us that over 200 students have already shared feedback on study spaces across campuses. This input has helped shape ongoing work with the library team, where key improvements have been identified including increasing laptop availability, extending loan periods, introducing loanable headphones, and upgrading furniture. Some of these changes will begin appearing in libraries soon.

Saif also shared that he presented the GRE App redevelopment idea to Vice Chancellor Jane Harrington, who was supportive of the proposal. Following this, the idea was taken to the ILS team, and work is now underway to explore how other universities approach app development to improve the student digital experience at Greenwich.

Inclusion and community building were also central to Saif’s work this term. He hosted his first Race Table Talk alongside Dr Kenisha Linton, creating space for open conversations around race, identity, and student experiences. With support from the Voice & Rep Team, he also helped deliver the GLOW workshop, supporting women to build confidence and access leadership opportunities.

During Disability History Month, Saif organised Games With Us sessions and a themed movie night, focusing on accessibility, awareness, and community connection. He also regularly attended Student Success Boards, Programme Committees, and Student Rep Drop-ins to raise student feedback and course-related concerns.

Alongside this, Saif co-led work on the university’s Mental Health Charter Award, contributed to institutional projects, raised ongoing timetabling concerns, and supported students affected by the updated payment system.

What This Means for Students

Saif’s work this term has focused on making the university more inclusive, accessible, and student-centred. As we move into the next term, students can be assured that these priorities will continue with their voices guiding every step forward.
