Step Into Leadership: GLOW Women in Leadership Workshop

Being a leader doesn’t start when you’re given a title. It begins the moment you decide your voice matters. This November, Greenwich Students’ Union (GSU) is inviting 50 female students to take part in an exclusive two-day experience designed to unlock confidence, inspire courage, and prepare the next generation of women leaders. Welcome to GLOW – the Women in Leadership Workshop.

Why GLOW Matters

University life is about more than lectures and deadlines - it’s about finding your place, shaping your future, and realising the power of your voice. For women in particular, stepping into leadership roles can sometimes feel intimidating, especially in spaces where confidence or representation is lacking.

That’s why GLOW was created. It’s not just a workshop. It’s a space for women to connect, grow, and empower one another. Whether you dream of leading a society, becoming a course rep, or even standing in future GSU elections, this event is about giving you the tools, the network, and the courage to get there.

“Leadership isn’t about waiting for permission - it’s about stepping forward.”

What You’ll Gain

GLOW is designed to give you practical skills and lifelong confidence, all in an environment where women support women.

By attending, you’ll gain:

  • Confidence in your leadership skills

  • Tools for public speaking and self-advocacy

  • A network of supportive women who share your ambitions

  • Inspiration from high-profile external speakers

  • Hands-on experience with internal mentors from Greenwich

Inside the Workshop: Two Days of Inspiration

📅 26–27 November

 ⏰ 9–5pm

 📍 Lowerdeck

  • Day 1 (26 Nov): Led by an external speaker, you’ll take part in workshops designed to challenge perceptions of leadership, build resilience, and spark confidence.

  • Day 2 (27 Nov): Greenwich leaders will guide you through practical sessions and real-world leadership exercises to put your skills into action.

And because GLOW is about creating a unique, intimate experience, only 50 students will be accepted.

Bigger Picture: Pathway to Leadership

GLOW isn’t just about two days. It’s about what comes next. The workshop is part of a bigger vision: building pathways for more women to step into leadership across Greenwich.

From becoming a Society Leader or Programme Rep, to eventually running in GSU Officer Elections, the journey starts with confidence. GLOW is your springboard — giving you the belief and the skills to lead boldly, both at university and beyond.

The GLOW Women in Leadership Workshop is your chance to take that first step — to build confidence, connect with inspiring voices, and discover the leader within you.

So, are you ready to glow?
