Workshop Overview

With the growing trend of vacation scheme applications also serving as training contract and Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) applications, the quality and content of students’ submissions have become increasingly significant. Law firms now expect applicants to demonstrate a clear understanding of their skills, experiences, and professional identity from the very beginning of the recruitment process.

 

What the Session Will Cover

  • Building a personal brand:
    Learn how to identify and communicate your professional values, motivations, and suitability for a legal career.

  • Crafting strong applications:
    Guidance on creating compelling, well-structured submissions that showcase your unique strengths and career aspirations.

  • Highlighting key attributes:
    Understand how to present your academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, and relevant work experience effectively.

  • Interactive exercises and reflection:
    Participate in activities designed to help you articulate your professional narrative and refine your self-presentation.

  • Understanding recruiter expectations:
    Analyse examples of successful applications and discover what law firms look for in candidates.

  • Interview and assessment preparation:
    Gain exposure to common interview and assessment questions used by firms, and develop strategies to respond confidently and authentically.
