Unaisa is an active student within the University and Union. Unaisa is part of a group of undergraduate students on the BSc Public Health programme have made an outstanding contribution to the student experience through leadership, initiative, and peer support.

She has established the Green Public Health Society, organising debates and engaging activities that encourage discussion on key public health issues while helping students connect across year groups. This has strengthened a sense of belonging and community within the programme. She has also organised two online employability galas where she interviewed professionals working in public health. These events provided valuable insight into career pathways and inspired students to think about future opportunities in the field.

As a programme representative, she has collected feedback from her peers and presented it at programme committee meetings, ensuring student voices are heard and contributing to improvements in teaching and learning. She also attended a stakeholder meeting with public health professionals, sharing student perspectives that helped inform curriculum development. The group are conscientious, professional, and consistently engaged in lectures, modelling active participation and encouraging others to contribute.

Unaisa actively supports her peers and helps create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Her work has strengthened community, enhanced employability awareness, and improved communication between students and staff, benefiting the entire programme.
