Born in Eritrea, Dr Mehari has been a passionate educator for 30 years in in UK, Europe, Africa, and China. He graduated in Economics from University of Asmara and completed my MA and PhD at University of Liverpool.

Before joining the University of Greenwich in 2006, Dr Mehari worked for The University of Asmara, The University of Liverpool, Liverpool JMU, Nottingham Trent University, and The University of Nottingham.

In Greenwich, Dr Mehari initiated the international partnership of University of Greenwich in Ethiopia and its annual conference in Addis Ababa as a forum for research collaborations between UK and African Scholars. He regularly visited China for the past 10 years to teach at Anhui University, and established the Annual Lunar Year celebration in Greenwich, leads a vibrant Greenwich Alumni Network in China.
