Chess and Board Games Society

Are you an experienced player who would like to face off with other players or perhaps a beginner that wants to play a fun game of chess with friends? Became a Grand Master and join our society!!!!

Who are we?

Welcome!

This society was opened with an aim to promote Chess around the university. The society welcomes both advanced players and new players!

There will be tutorial meetings for beginners or anyone interested in learning how to play.

We aim to meet up at least once a week for recreational games in Dreadnought.

We will have amazing puzzles to solve, we will have fun 1 to 1 timed games under the following categories: bullet, rapid and classic.

In the future we plan to host tournaments with cash prizes, eventually leading to challenge other universities.

We will be hosting socials where members can hang out and learn to play by watching our advanced members.

Membership

Membership is £2. It is used to take care of our equipment and help fund social events.
Email us upon joining for news and meeting schedules.

Plans for the future

At the moment our main goal is to get all society members on board and meeting together on a weekly basis. However, in the near future we want to get in touch with other universities to organise competitions.
