Rethink Economics Society

Who are we?

Who are we?

We are the Rethinking Economics Society. This society will connect with the international Rethinking Economics network to organise campaigns, events and engaging projects within economics that is pluralistic, reflects the real world, diverse and decolonised. Rethinking Economics is an international network of students, academics and professionals building a better economics in society and the classroom. We want to create an inclusive space for open discussion and critical thinking on social, political and economic issues. We want to foster our intellectual development. We want to create connections between students interested in economics regardless of whether they just started their undergraduate studies or are already finishing their PhD.

The aims and objectives of this society merge with the wider international body, which aims to:

  • Reforming the Global Economics Curriculum
  • Building a Global Community of Critical Economist and Thinkers
  • Diversifying and Decolonising Economics
  • Increasing and Spreading Awareness of Importance of Economic Literacy
