WHO AM I?  EMEEMA JACOB & First year undergraduate Accounting and Finance Student

WHAT AM I RUNNING FOR? BUSINESS FACULTY OFFICER

WHY AM I RUNNING FOR IT?  Because of PEOPLE, PROSPECTIVE and PROFESSION. Every person has a purpose. Every purpose comes from a prospective. Turning this prospection into reality is profession. That’s what I am here for- the process not the profit. The future of Business resides in people and change. I can help people make that change.

WHAT HAVE I DONE AND STILL DOING?

  • Student Ambassador
  • Language Connect Project Leader
  • Brightside Mentor
  • Barclays Mentee
  • Voluntary Teaching Assistant

IS THAT ALL?  No, I have also attended seminars at the Bank of England, been to talks at PwC, have voluntarily hosted various events, participated in a few career & networking events at Barclays and currently waiting to attend a talk by ICAEW.

AND WHAT WILL I DO?

  • Provide a platform to voice the needs and priorities
  • Set up a student support network where concerns/ queries can be dealt with straight away (will be easily accessible to all)
  • More involvement with the BSEO to boost employability
  • Directing opportunities for professional development (with regular updates on all external events, talks, seminars, insight experiences, internships, placements and volunteering available to students alongside studies)
  • Deliver guidance with Course Submissions, Assessments and other Academic Help
  • Lead activities to enhance employable skills such as networking, communication, co-ordination, decision making etc.

BUT most importantly listening to YOU.

It doesn’t matter what year or course, change starts from where you decide. Or from who you decide.

There is I. There is We. Then there is YOU.

And YOU are the factor that drives it all.
