Making Greenwich a YOUniversity

Want to change your SU – here’s what Jenny does for you!

Wellbeing

      Educational support for wellbeing:

  • Free student placements – cover travel costs, parking and provide lunches for students on long-term placements.
  • 24/7 study spaces in Avery Hill – study at any time.
  • Better bus service in Medway – better timings and cheaper pricing.
University is stressful - assignments, finance, social life, sleep… I will work with educational staff on your behalf to provide the much needed support and help lighten the burden of university. Lecturers and faculty leaders put added pressure on students but, by starting a conversation, I want to change the attitude towards university experience – UNIVERSITY DOESN’T HAVE TO BE STRESSFUL!

Activities

Student involvement objectives:

  • Make SU VISIBLE – promote and involve more students.
  • More Student jobs – paid and volunteering.
  • Create opportunities – socialising and selfexpressing through sports and societies.
Sport, Societies, Academic communities – during the year I want to create more events run by sport, society and academic communities, promoted by the whole SU. I have already started the project through the ResLife Assistant Role, including upcoming events with the Drag Society. Students have much drive and passion and, as someone who has seen it first-hand, I want to develop and encourage student engagement.

New Students

Transition to university is difficult for everyone – loneliness, fear and feeling lonely are familiar to all. To fight these, I will create more support for arriving students – in halls, at course briefings, even at airports to meet international students! Student reps and faculty officers will help students get their footing, find friends and show them how amazing experience university can be!
