Fighting For Your Voice

WHY AM I RUNNING?

  • Disabled students need to be included more
  • Invisible illnesses need to be catered for
  • Mental health support needs to be considered more thoroughly
  • Inclusion plans should do what they claim to do and should be read by every member of staff that a student encounters on their programme

With lack of communication between faculties my being a faculty officer would allow me to take your voice further by working alongside the Greenwich Student Union officers so that together, we can work towards positive changes at Greenwich for every student who attends.

I am extremely passionate about every student getting the same opportunities as everyone else. Every student deserves to positively gain from university life. All students should feel included within their programmes and not ostracised because of reasons that are out of their control.

WHO AM I?

My name is Holly, a first-year Psychology student. I am one of the representatives for first-year Psych students. I love being a student rep. Interacting with you all and taking your concerns to the department fills me with a lot of pride and I take the position very seriously.

A bit more about me for context:

  • I commute
  • I am a mature student
  • I am disabled
  • I have mental health issues
  • I am a carer

Being all of these things is hard enough and being treated differently at University because of these things is not acceptable.

I am not your typical student and because of this, my initial experiences of university life have not been the greatest. In my time as a student rep, I have had plenty of students approach me with similar issues and concerns.

I am running to stand up for you and help you find YOUR voice.
