Think once, think business, think better uni experience.
Hello, everyone! My name is Bianca, I am a second year Business Management student, and I am running for the role of Business Faculty Officer. Having been elected for this position last year meant that, during the past months, I gained a valuable insight on how everything works and what needs more attention in the faculty, and therefore I was motivated to run again in order to keep developing my projects.
Firstly, if (re)elected, a priority would be to ensure better support for assignments. This includes more support from tutors, for example having one to one meetings with each student to discuss the assessment, for the courses that do not contain this type of guidance already. Moreover, I intend to resolve the issue of unclear assessment descriptions and module handbooks that are not up-to-date, as well as stressing the need of a more personalized and detailed feedback. In addition, I will bring more awareness to the fact that deadlines usually are very close to each other, which on multiple times leads to ‘bulking’ and to an imbalance of the work-life aspect.
Secondly, another matter I would like to improve includes the dissertation. My aim is to help students get into their third year with some levels of knowledge regarding their research project. This could be done by introducing optional classes and/or meetings with lecturers at the end of the second year, depending on the interests of the students, to gain more knowledge before actually starting the project.
To sum up, I can say that I have a lot of plans for the next academic year. Maybe I will not make it all, but I am absolutely determined to give my best and you can offer me this chance only if you decide to vote for me.
