VOTE FOR NEHA AND BE PART OF THE CHANGE
VOTE NEHA #1 FOR GSU OFFICER
Hi everyone, I’m Neha, a third-year business with marketing student and an inclusivity consultant at GSU. The reason why I want to become a GSU officer is to create opportunities and build a support network which allows all students to thrive and succeed in their respective fields. Being a student, I know how challenging it is to balance university, work, and personal life. I want to make changes which not only help you now but can help you build your future.
WHAT MY GOALS ARE:
ACADEMIC SUPPORT, EMPLOYABILITY, AND INCLUSIVITY
Being a program representative and previously an outreach ambassador, I have spoken to numerous students who feel anxious due to the lack of academic support.
- Improve academic support by assigning minimum 2 academic skills tutors per program.
- On campus academic support office for in-person assistance across all three campuses.
- Optional academic writing module available for all years.
- Mandatory assignment and discussion session twice per week to increase the understanding of the students.
- Module tutors to conduct a one-to-one meeting with students one week before the submission date.
Increasing student employability because everyone deserves the same chances and opportunities.
- By 2023 increase the employability rate by at least 5%.
- Placement and internship scheme with wider international options.
- Course tailored career fairs all across three campuses.
- In person and online mock assessment center and workshops.
- Direct interview and hiring opportunities within university also with partnering companies.
- Improved CV and cover letter support in addition to talks with alumni working for various industries and companies.
INCLUSIVITY ( AWARDING GAP)-
As an inclusivity consultant I have seen various modules which lack inclusivity. Therefore, it creates a significant impact on the overall performance of individual students.
- By 2023 I will reduce the awarding gap by at least 3%.
- Increase the number of students achieving 1st class honours and 2:1 across all programs.
- Give students the opportunity to co-create 10% of the module across all programs.
- Encourage implementation of recent content with a global perspective.
- Frequent consultation session with students to gain feedback and address any concerns.
- More recognition for BAME societies to represent diversity at the Greenwich University.
