LET’S TURN IDEAS AND THOUGHTS INTO A REALITY!!!

Awareness + Improvements + Equality/Diversity= Success for students!

University Life is great??? Then why are we paying so much and getting so little academic support??? Sure they claim to be giving us opportunities and skills, but do we even listen to half of what our lecturers say??? We are paying so much money just to struggle to get work experience and miss classes. To live on a quiet campus, for societies to struggle to hold events and suffer in silence!!!

I DON’T THINK SO!!!!!!

Let’s give students and societies the voice they need, by giving them the help they need, not just socially but also academically after all this is a University!!!

If elected I would do the following:

  1. Academic Changes
  1. Communication with lecturers more information on Course Requirements, Deadlines, Events.
  2. Know how long you will have to wait to hear back from emailing your tutor / lecturer.
  3. All this support made available to students in the beginning of the year e.g. assignment workshops, drop in times, course specific questions. Word count for assignments written in module handbook along with more advice and help on resits/marking.
  4. Timetabling of lecturers.
  5. Networking with employers/academics.

  1. Support To You
  1. Job/ Internship opportunities, make more part time jobs available through the student union and through the Jobshop portal, make applications fairer for students to progress past the applicant stage.
  2. Assignment and academic skills support.
  3. Financial Support

  1. Opportunities
  1. More information, spaces and support so it is easier for societies to plan events and advertise.
  1. Course based social events included in timetables so students are not waiting during breaks.
  2. Vertical networking between students on the same course but in different years so they can provide experience and support.
  3. Improved bus services- Greenwich+Medway
