Safer Campuses

  • Closing the barrier at the Avery Hill Campus past a desired time.
  • Student walks back to the Greenwich campuses after the closing of Lower Deck.
  • An extra university bus service on Wednesday’s and Friday’s at 2:30am to accommodate the later closing of Lower Deck to allow Avery Hill Campus students to get home safely instead of having to reply upon taxis/ubers/public transport.
  • A greater push for the ‘Safezone’ App.

Structured Freshers (Welcome) Week

  • Taking note of student’s personal details (emails and contact number) given that there is often a delay for them to receive their university ones. This will allow necessary information to be sent prior to their arrival and make the situation a little less hectic.
  • A greater push for online registrations as soon as they are accepted into the university which will likely result in less traffic in face to face registrations and make the process run much smoother.
  • Students that have to travel a great distance have their student cards sent to them via post.
  • International students have designated days for face-to-face registration given that they may need extra attention.

BAME (Black Asian and Other Minority Groups) Achievement Gap

  • Ensuring Curriculum Consultations are known to the wider student population
  • Liasing with Curriculum Consultants to make modules more inclusive
  • More regular consultation groups to identify problems within the student community and suggest solutions
  • A push for more BAME students involved across the university as representation is key.
