Let's make changes that matter

I am here to create a more inclusive environment at Greenwich, and to make sure that everyone gets the university experience they deserve regardless of who they are. As a psychology student, I am passionate about mental health. I have had my own struggles with my own mental health, and I have experienced how overwhelming it can be and how much it can influence university life. Even now that it is an area that is so widely talked about, the results are scarce and that has to change. One of my passion projects is to ensure that there is a quiet space for students on every campus, which is why I created Nap Time society, to ensure that there was somewhere to seek peace and quiet during the week. You should not have to hide away to deal with anxiety, sensory overload or any other issue or discomfort!

The Faculty of Education and Health is such a big part of the university, yet because we are spread out over all three campuses you do not get to feel that sense of community. In addition, many of the programs offer placements, making it feel even more isolated from the others. It offers a challenge, but it should not stop us from feeling more included as a faculty, and of course within the faculty itself. I want to make sure that students that go on placements are taken into consideration when events are planned and create more events for the faculty so we can really get that sense of unity that we deserve.

Most importantly though, I want to create more communication between the students and the student union, ensure that issues are taken seriously and that everyone feels represented because that is the inclusivity that the University of Greenwich strives for!
