BENJAMIN HAIGH

Hello fellow students!

I’m Benjamin and I’m studying a BSc in Speech and Language Therapy at Medway Campus and I’m running for the position of Student Chair.

I’ve a huge passion for helping others and, having had my own struggles over the years, a desire to grab all opportunity available and to have a positive impact on other people’s lives. I have chaired and sat on many meetings in my professional life, from Staff to Child Protection, and will continue to do so in an open and democratic way.

If elected I will campaign on the following issues:

·      Giving all representatives a fair say

I will do this by running drop in sessions during the week and some weekends for students to drop in and provide any feedback or to pose any questions. I will also ensure all members are given an equal amount of time to feedback.

·      Deliver positive changes

This will be achievable by taking on board my fellow Representatives views and aspirations for future needs and also to help improve the courses for future students. I will also be regularly asking student opinions and make sure each change is delivered by the proposing Member.

And finally

·      Ensuring a democratic process is followed

I will do this by working with my fellow students representatives . I will also ensure that the space is lead fairly and with inclusion. While democracy stands, I will not allow any propaganda or biased views to take place and intolerance on the board will not stand. Each member including myself will be held to account at all times.

Thank you for taking the time to read this manifesto. I’m running for Student Council Chair. Please go and vote for me between November 5th and November 7th 2018.
