Who am I?
I am Arbaz Shaikh, an MBA International Business student and I’d like to be NUS Delegate & Chair of student council.
Plan of Action:
I have made a six-point plan about the change I will bring as the Chair of student council.
1)International Students support:
Creating more platform and opportunities to make students place their point of view and problems they come across.
2)Networking Events:
Organising networking sessions via academic communities & societies that will help the students to explore the importance of networking as being an international student
3)Monthly Meeting:
Monthly meetings with the students so that they can bring their concerns and ideas forward.
4)Travel / Accommodation concern:
Problems or issues faced by many of our students at their accommodation so to sort or provide them with new and better options.
5)Academical support:
Sessions and meet & greet with the seniors’ students of their branch of study so that they don’t fall prey to false practices or bad influence.
6)Stress Buster:
Organisng interesting events and parties for students to release their stress. such as online/LAN gaming event, theme parties , social gatherings and much more.
Why me?
I have held several positions of leadership and I had various responsibilities which include being the Technical Advisory manager in an Automotive firm PKS Engineering LTD. and event head for the college cultural festivals and also prime adviser for the Public Relations department of the college during Bachelorette. These positions have inculcated values which eventually taught me how to tackle diverse issues and achieve goals successfully. I am sure I will be able to give my best if I am elected to be the part-time NUS Delegate & Chair of student council.
