Why Me?

  • BAME Attainment-gap and visibility
    • Students from Black, Asian, and other Minority Ethnic groups tend to generally attain a degree of lower-classification than our non-BAME colleagues.
    • We need more representation and support for BAME and other minorities in our faculty,
  • Lecturer-student relations

Lecturers have effect on our education and experience to a large degree.

  • Did you know that some departments (e.g. maths) have weekly staff-student social events?
  • We at FEH need similar opportunities where we can interact with our lecturers beyond the context of lectures and seminars.
  • Lab equipment’s and Research tools
    • Did you know that a PhD student who used our EEG machines said that the apparatus was so old, that it  broke quite easily, making their data collection so much more difficult for them?
    • We need better equipment, we as student-researchers need to be represented.
  • Work experience opportunities and Employability
    • need to be promoted, specifically for our faculty as we all know how crucial work-experience hours are in careers related to education and health.

  • Wellbeing
    • As students of FEH, our experience of university tends to be fairly stressful.
    • We need more resources that help us cope.
    • I am already in touch with the SU to improve the university’s new wellbeing

  • Why I am best suited for this position.
  • As a Psychology with Counselling student, I train in listening skills that help me hear and represent not only that which is being said, that which are left unsaid and typically, unheard.
  • I believe ALL  matters are just as important as each other
  • It will be my sole objective to ensure that ALL voices are heard, not just the loud ones.
