The right role is as important as taking part!
Hello, my name is Louise and I am running for Volunteering and Community Officer. I am running because I have had lots of experience being a volunteer and I know that I can use what I have learned to make this role come alive and ensure more people are aware of how important volunteering can be to your future career, the community and even yourself. I have volunteered for organisations such as Scope, St Johns Ambulance and the Scouting Association.
If elected I will campaign on the following things:
- Finding different volunteer roles to match YOU. Volunteering should be fun and make you feel good about what you are doing. So, finding the right role is just as important as taking part.
- To provide sessions on how volunteering can help with future employment.
- To promote and provide volunteering and community engagement opportunities to ALL students!
My current voluntary roles include: Cub Scout Leader, Assistant County Commissioner for Inclusion and Private Mathematics Tutor. I have developed many skills from volunteering including; leadership, communication and problem solving. These skills have enabled me to gain valuable work experience within the London Insurance and Financial Markets, which will also benefit me greatly when applying for jobs after I finish my degree.
My goal is to help YOU further develop your skills and learn new ones whilst also making a positive impact to the community around you.
My name is Louise and I am running for Volunteering and Community Officer. Please consider voting for me between 6th-8th March. You can contact me on lc1448r@greenwich.ac.uk. Thank you.
