Together, we eliminate fear.

I am Anthony Jack Williams and I am running for LGBTQ+ Students’ Officer.

“With confidence, you have won before you have started.”
– Marcus Garvey

The definition of the word self-confidence is “A feeling of trust in one's abilities, qualities, and judgment.”

I want our university be the catalyst to our self-confidence.

Who am I and what do I do?

I am a Film and Television student graduating in 2019. I am a proud gay man, and therefore an extremely proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. I only discovered my pride when I was surrounded by accepting peers in a safe space. I want our university to be a safe space, to be that space for current and new students, and I will make this happen.

My plan of action!

LEARN: Events will take place which allow everyone (in and out of the community) to celebrate their self-confidence and each other’s confidence and passion for equality, allowing  fun ways in which everyone can learn more about the LGBTQ+ community and its history.

LOVE: Regular events will occur in order for members of the LGBTQ+ community to get to know each other, make new friends, exude self-confidence, and most importantly celebrate what it means to be themselves!

SUPPORT: Providing support to students who are struggling with self-identification is an extremely important part of my manifesto. Anonymously speaking to someone about this topic can make all the difference when dealing with self-identification and I will make it my mission to create a safe, open space that allows for students to get advice and/or generally talk about how they’re feeling, whether it be anonymously or not.

I will make the University of Greenwich a fear-free zone. I will make sure that all of our voices are heard, acknowledged, and accepted.
