Megan Brown

I am currently studying on the extended civil engineering programme; a career that was stimulated by attending an engineering college. There I got the opportunity to use the machinery and software used within the industry, aswell as carrying out a regular placement with the construction and civil engineering firm McAlpine.

I would consider myself to be a very self-motivated student, reliable and willing to learn; attributes that I believe are key to such role. I am a polite and confident individual that is able to work well with both the university staff and my peers to actively work for positive change.

I have excellent listening and manner and communication skills which will aid me in actively engaging and participating in how decisions and change is implemented on my programme.

I am a strong minded and keen learner and am often looking for new ways to process and communicate information. I am a kinaesthetic learner, which is very important in my chosen industry, so think it is very essential to bring such aspects into the classroom.

I have excellent social skills, which will allow me to keep well informed of student issues through discussion of any problems and opinions regarding the course/ subject. I hope to play a highly active part for both myself and fellow students to ensure our journey is informative and purposeful, whilst developing us as individuals.
