Hello, my name is Magdalena Nuspahic. I study 3D design and animation and I am a second year student.
I am running for NUS (National Union of Students) delegate. I am running because I want to make my peers' voices heard on a national level and want to present their issues directly to those who have the power to fix them. I am running because I am tired of there not being solutions for certain issues, or people willing to fight for them. I have been a Student Representative at my course for a year and was re-elected this year, and I believe first in putting myself forward as an amiable and approachable individual, but also as a determined and driven one. I can promise nothing more than the most that is possible, which is that I will strive to be a mouthpiece for You and will make Your voice heard where it matters.
If elected I will campaign on the following things:
- Financial help and guidance, as financial issues are the one of the biggest problems a student has. From personal experience of working most of the week alongside university and still struggling to make ends meet without a loan I know how it feels to be constantly stressing about money, not only for the present but for the future when we will have to be repaying our loans.
- Help with stress, anxiety, depression, making social connections and all the other wonders university time brings us. I believe these and other such problems could be tackled by researching elements of self-care that different students utilise and attempting to bring them to a university-wide level.
- Free printing, because we deserve it.
