From Women’s Liberation Chair to Student Union President – Fighting for You!
As the Women’s Liberation Chair, I have dedicated my time to advocating for equality, representation, and student rights. I have worked closely with students to ensure their voices are heard and their concerns addressed. Now, I want to take that commitment further as your next Student Union President, ensuring that every student—regardless of background, gender, or nationality—has the support, opportunities, and representation they deserve.
Over the past year, I have pushed for safer spaces, stronger student advocacy, and a more inclusive university environment. I have seen firsthand how structural issues like financial stress, limited career opportunities, and mental health struggles impact students. This is why I am running—to create real change, not just for a select few but for every single student at Greenwich.
My vision for the university is centered on inclusion, fairness, and opportunity. I want to strengthen support systems for students, ensuring that mental health services are more accessible, international students feel more integrated, and all student voices are actively considered in decision-making. Education should be affordable, and I will fight for fair tuition policies, better student discounts, and more financial transparency. Housing should be safe and accessible, and I will advocate for fair rental policies that protect students from exploitation.
Beyond rights and affordability, I want to make student life more enriching. I will work to expand career support, ensuring that students—whether undergraduate, postgraduate, or international—have access to better job opportunities, internships, and networking events. A strong student community is just as important as academics, and I will push for more funding and resources for societies, sports teams, and cultural events to make campus life more engaging and inclusive.
My experience as an advocate has taught me how to negotiate, challenge policies, and make student voices impossible to ignore. I have fought for fairness as Women’s Liberation Chair, and as Student Union President, I will continue to stand up for you—ensuring that the university works for its students, not just for itself.
This election is about more than just a position. It is about choosing someone who will listen, act, and deliver. I believe in the power of student voices, and I promise to fight for your rights, your future, and your university experience. Together, we can create a campus where every student thrives. Vote for me, Maitreyi, for Student Union President—because your voice matters, and I will make sure it is heard.
